How to draw a geofence

Drawing a geo fence allows you to determine when a lot or gates appear to the public.

How to draw a geofence site

Process

  1. Log into the customer management portal and select site settings from the left menu.

  2. Search and select the site you want to add instructions to.

  3. Select Geofencing in the top menu.

  4. Select add zone.

  5. Give your zone a name

  6. Select the buffer zone size. We recommend 15 metres.

  7. Next, draw an outline around the site on the map

  8. Select submit to complete the process.

Geofenced sites should be tested in person to verify functionality.

How does geofencing work for an ungated site?

If an app user’s mobile phone is within the geofence, then the option to park here appears to the user. This make it easier for the parker to select the correct parking lot when starting a transient session.

How does geofencing work on a gated site?

If an app user’s mobile phone is within the geofence, then the option to open a gate appears. This is used for out Pizza Delivery function that allows a user to open a gate remotely, as long as they are within the geofence, for example to let a delivery person into a gate.

How does geofencing work for multi-factor entry?

For LPR enabled sites, you can configure an additional setting to only open a gate if both the plate is read and belongs to a group member, and their mobile phone is within the geofence. This is used at high security sites.
