How to create a promotion

Promotions are created to provide parkers with a unique code which gives a pre-configured discount on parking sessions.

The process

  1. Log into the customer management portal and select validation from the left menu.

  2. Select promotions in the top menu.

  3. Select add promotion.

  4. Add a name for the promotion.

  5. Select which sites the promotion can be used on.

  6. (Optional) Select which space block the promotion code’s occupancy should be counted in
    (Note: this will change the session from its current occupancy space block, to the promotion code’s space block. See Occupancy guide for more details)

  7. Enter a unique code for the promotion. This is the code that a parker will enter in their promotion wallet.

  8. Select the promotion type.

    • Fixed Amount.

    • Percentage Amount.

    • Duration Days.

    • Duration Hours.

    • Validation Rate.

  9. Enter the value of the promotion.

  10. Select the availability period of the promotion. This is the time period that a session must be completed within to apply the promotion.
    Available From is set to 12.00am (start of the day) for the date selected
    Available To is set to 11.59pm (end of the day) for the date selected

  11. Enter the number of uses a unique user can apply the code. i.e., 1 means that the code can only be used by a parker once.

  12. Enter the number of times the code can be redeemed.

  13. Select submit to complete the process.

Promotion type

  • Fixed Amount - the amount to discount off the session (eg. $5 off).

  • Percentage Amount - the percentage to discount off the session (eg. 20% off).

  • Duration Days - the number of free days of parking (eg. 1 day free).

  • Duration Hours - the number of hours of free parking (eg. 2 hours free) .
    We suggest you use Validation rate over this promotion.

  • Validation rate - switch the parking session to use a different rate to charge.

Availability

The date range where the code is applicable within (can be applied to a parking session)

If left blank the code is always applicable (or until the code’s limit is reached or the code is retired)

Limits

Code usage limit - This limit is how many times the code can be used in general. This is not a per day limit.

Limit per unique user - This limit is how many times a user can use the code. This is not a per day limit.

If left blank the code has no usage limit.

There is currently no use per day limit.

Frequent Queries

Can I invite users to a promotion code?

There is no standard email invite to provide a promotion code to a parker. You can send marketing email to parkers if you are opted in for Mailchimp Marketing as part of your Inugo App instance.

Where do promotion codes apply?

Promotion codes can be applied on the app and scan to pay.

Promotion codes are not applicable on bookings.
