How to use the Technician menu for installations and site maintenance
This article is for technicians and focuses on how and when to use the technician feature menu in the app.
The technician features are typically used when installing new or reconfiguring existing hardware on a site. For technicians installing new hardware, add the device in this menu and edit the appropriate details to configure the hardware to meet your needs.
Process
To access the technician menu:
Log into the app and ensure your user has technician access to the site or organization in question.
Next, open the left menu on the homepage of the Inugo app.
Select Technician from the available options.
To access the technician options for a specific site, select the site from the list of available options.
To perform testing and maintenance on a specific controller or lane, select the controller from the list of available options.
What can you do in the technician app?
Below are the available options within the Technician menu:
Edit Hardware Details: Allows hardware details like device name, gate type, communication method, and group to be changed.
Test Open Using Bluetooth: Sends an open command to the controller using Bluetooth
Test Open Using Internet: Sends an open command to the controller using Internet (cellular)
Delete Hardware: Allows the technician to remove the hardware from the site in question
Always test hardware using the technician toolset to verify Bluetooth and cellular/WiFi are functioning properly.
